The Toy Factory Loft located at 1855 Industrial is a 7 story building located in the Arts District of Los Angeles. The building was built in 1924for the Star Truck Warehousing Co. The Western Land Improvement Co completed this building. Western Land was the land development are of the Santa Fe Railroad. With its massive poured in place concrete structure, the toy factory lofts was designated a civilian bomb shelter during WW II
The building was bought by Ace Novelty in 1974 the was sold to Play by Play Co. In 2002 the Linear City LLC bought the building and converted into Live/work lofts.
The first and second floors are retail and single level & some 2 story lofts. The 3rd floor have one of kind lofts, some with gardens and balconies. Floors 4,5,6,& 7 are arranged with 22 lofts per floor. The 7th floor hold the penthouse units with higher ceilings.
